Dear Advisor/Delegate,

JPSMUN is an unrivaled Model UN conference, comprised of detailed and exciting simulations of United Nations committees and other international bodies. We aim to create an educational experience for high school students, helping them realize their potential in negotiation, debate, and diplomacy. JPSMUN brings together like-minded students seeking not only to increase their knowledge on international affairs but to develop lasting transportable skills such as public speaking and social interaction.

Although our JPSMUN Conference boasts a storied legacy spanning over twenty years, this will be the first conducted on a grand scale, on a level on par if not exceeding that of most national conferences.  Primarily run by high school students for high school students, this time around JPSMUN will also feature the expertise of many prominent alumni of the JP Stevens Model UN Program, including Secretary Generals and high-ranking staffers from the likes of NAIMUN, ILMUNC and Harvard MUN, who will extend their advice and assistance to the conference. Additionally, delegates will have the opportunity to be addressed by Ryan Villaneuva, Yale Graduate and founder of popular MUN blog, BestDelegate.com, at our opening ceremonies.  Despite the high caliber of the staff, JPSMUN promises to be a conference for all types of delegates, experienced and novice, and for all types of clubs – those looking for a valuable inexpensive training experience in preparation for larger conferences to come or those seeking an intense and competitive contest among New Jersey’s best MUN programs. With engaging and dynamic committees for all – including at least 3 specialized agencies or crises – delegates are sure to walk away with a rewarding experience.

We very much look forward to your response. As we hope you’ll find, our club’s tradition of excellence in the competitive circuit carries over to the caliber of our conferences. The delegate fee is very low-priced, at about $27.  The delegation fee (per school) simply costs $35. For any pressing questions or concerns, please feel free to email the JPSMUN Secretariat at jpsmun2@gmail.com. Note again that, for competitive and in-committee aspects, JPSMUN would function as a national conference would, bar, of course, the excessive cost. Your presence is welcomed on October 8th-9th, 2011. ,

Shashwat Chugh

Secretary General ’11-’12
